I started 3 different kinds of onions, marigolds, cabbage and 3 different kinds of kale today. I have to go to the store to get a few other things I want and I will start the tomatoes and peppers and a few other things Saturday.

DD and the kids have all had the stomach flu, so I do not want to be around them for a few more days. I was going to a baby shower on Saturday for her, but I am going to not go to that one. I think she is not going to go either. I have the gifts bought and I will just give them to her the next time I see her.

DS and I took Blinky to the emergency vet late Tuesday night and had him put to sleep. I could tell we had done all we could and he might start having distress. His legs were getting weak. I feel okay about it since we did all we could. I have shown pictures of him over the years.

@Gardening with Rabbits it sounds like your backed up against the wall . The flu is going around here to as well as schools were closed because of the measles outbreak.
When the kids were in school they brought every bug home too. Staying is tough when family is sick.

Sorry about Blinky what a beautiful kitty. I have special areas in my garden for my animals when they go over the rainbow bridge , planting special plants in remembrance.

Thank you all. He was a wonderful cat. He was a flame point. There is supposed to be some Siamese in the bloodline. They talk like a Siamese cat does. If I ever get another cat it will be one of these. I had a garden friend cat named Flower that always was outside in the garden with me and she had cancer and had to be put to sleep, so we went to the Humane Society to find another cat and Blinky was very little. He looked 6 or 8 weeks old. He was the most unusual cat I ever had and do think think I would ever want a different kind. He was such a talker and into everything. I had looked them up on the internet after we got him and saw videos of other flame point cats and they sound just like him. I am fine though. He really was DS's buddy for most of his life.

I am going to take the fence down that was made for the rabbits and the cats and use it out in the garden. My new daughter-in-law likes sugar snap peas. I never plant those, but she likes them and so does DD.

I hope some of the snow melts so I can start doing things outside. I am going to get some new birdseed tomorrow and some flower seeds and finish all my planting tomorrow inside. I have to clean out the greenhouse on the patio and order a new cover for it. I also have to get a small bale of straw tomorrow and give the rabbit a new bed.
