Tried the coffee in the pot, but I had to dump it out and make my own. I have been on line paying bills this morning. I built a fire. It was in the 30s when I got up. The sun is out and about 43 right now. There will be a low of 28 tonight and then by Saturday we will get in the 60s.

I saw bee balm coming up this morning. My garlic looks really healthy. I got organic from a different source last fall and it is making a difference.

DD made it to 36 weeks now. I have been helping her some with housework, but mostly she is fine and doing it all herself. I think her stairs in her house help keep her in good shape through the winter.

DW bought several Honeycrisp apples – couldn't resist, apparently ;). Waxed 2024 ... still tasty ...

Microwaved, still good. Banana on Corn Flakes. Oolong.

Reading about language. Vocalizations by Bonobos are called "calls." Maybe we are coming closer to considering them as language ;). Combination calls are thought by some researchers to sometimes mean more than has been previously thought. Okay

English. The "er" sound. I'm not quite sure what all the linguists are talking about in combinations with other sounds. But, with my hearing, that can't be surprising. Anyway, use is confined to a very few languages. Two just happen to be English and Mandarin Chinese. Sooo, there is no shortage of humans who use this sound in everyday speaking ;).

Toad in the Hole/Chicken in a Basket for a 2nd breakfast.

I will procrastinate a little longer before going out to tear up more lawngrass. It is covered with frost — a low of 28⁰ (-2C) earlier, although the sun is shining.

8AM Time for coffee!

No way close to freezing overnight with the rain commencing.

Finished removing grass sod from two areas at the ends of growing beds — too much shade, too much traffic, too difficult to access with mower. Half is in for composting, half completed soil prep for the end of one bed, buried at a good depth.

Good to finish with 2025 sod removal. Almost as much work as during '24 with its larger area. The rototiller was used then and digging out the beds was saved for Autumn. These 3 days have contrasted strongly with my 30 minutes of cardio exercise on Winter days but fit with the idea of being a groan-up. Oh ooo ...

Finished Malt o Meal with cranberries, butter and honey. Have garbage cans out at the curb. It's time for the herbal tea!
