So Seed, you also put peppers and onion in your slaw? That's a great idea, I like onions in everything and dh like peppers (hot) in everything!:p
I'm not suppose to add onions and peppers? Who knew?
Ha! No, it's not that you're not supposed to...I think there aren't supposed to be rules, you make it as you like it. Like potato salad, or chili or a hundred other foods out there where there are as many ways to make it as there are people to eat it.

I love the coleslaw at Chik-Fil-A, so here is the recipe I use a lot (easy to just chop it all in the food processor so its finely chopped)

1 head cabbage, finely chopped
1 small carrots, finely chopped
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 tablespoon pepper
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions
To make the dressing: mix everything together except the cabbage and carrots. Mix dressing with cabbage and carrots.

We were in a fancy resturant a few months ago and I had some fantastiic coleslaw. The chef didn't mind sharing his secret ingredient.... Tobasco sauce! not too much! It wasn't hot, just a nice backround of heat and tang... everything else in it was typical ingredients.

I like dried cranberries in mine or raisens or currents. Also I avoid using sugar with drops of stevia.
