Competitive gardening

I don't have a single thing in the ground yet either and it's about killing me...feel like I've got ants in m' pants over it all. I've been doing fencing and searching for ground cover/wood chips, so everything had to wait. Don't know what that will mean for the garden this year, as we have a very short growing season.

We should start a 'before & after' fence clearing thread to encourage each other - it seems to be a theme this year.

On a happy note - there is a little nursery/herbelist (sp?) nearby who posted yesterday on FB that she has a green house full of heirloom tomatoes that need to go before they burn up in there. $1 each! I'm gong by this afternoon.

Are you guys doing corn this year? How about first corn? ;-) Or latest surviving tomato? This could be fun!

No, don't do corn since I have no space to grow it and don't know if it will even grow in my area. Last surviving tomatoe would be good. I think it would be between Digits and me! Never mind, I think he would win. :( How about roses still blooming in December?

My corn is already in the ground, and about 6 inches tall. Am I winning?

If so, sure I'll race.
