Chickens usually love digging and scratching in a pile of leaves. Then....they eat them.
I pile the run and coop two feet deep. I never turn the leaves. The chickens scratching turn the leaves and shreds them. In a couple of months the chickens reduce it down to about six inches, ready to spread on the garden!Do they mold? and how often do you change them?

No ! Where there are wet urine areas, yes, but that is due to the fly maggots that burrow through and consume it ... then they pupate ... then you will be cursed with even more FLYS !!!@baymule I know you are experienced with rabbits, would your deep litter work with them. Like how in couple of months ready to spread.
