Chickens usually love digging and scratching in a pile of leaves. Then....they eat them. :lol:

We don't store them. We scoop them up, and make a big pile int he run for them to dig through. They love it, and we love that they turn the leaf piles into compost. :weee

@baymule I know you are experienced with rabbits, would your deep litter work with them. Like how in couple of months ready to spread.
No ! Where there are wet urine areas, yes, but that is due to the fly maggots that burrow through and consume it ... then they pupate ... then you will be cursed with even more FLYS !!! :ep :th
