composting waste office paper and cereal boxes?

Ariel, thanks for starting this thread. Many of us have access to shredded paper, so it's good to know some of the ways we can use it.

April, can you please be a little more specific on how the shredded paper was used in the worm box?

They used the shredded paper like brown matter. They would just layer it with food scraps and the worms did the rest.

I have been using the shredded office paper for a few years without problems. Be sure to mix it in and don't layer it. I found that when I layered it there was a tendency to clump. Also, be sure they don't put envelopes with the clear plastic in there or you'll end up with strips of clear plastic in your compost as well.
