this sort of thing can also happen on cross-country bus or aeroplane adventures...

i had an elderly lady chew my ear off for most of my trip to LA (the one-and-only time i flew there), but she was not scheduled for me return trip. i got the whole list of her family from parents, siblings children and grandchildren and i even recall the family name and rough environs that i could probably still track them down and ask them what happened to their grand-matron 20 years later.

my trip from Denver to mid-Michigan i spent quite a few hours of time listening to a lonely teenager who was glad to be going someplace else from a place that had no appeal to her. i'd gladly have stayed if i'd have found a job but a month of looking (sort of :) ) and fishing (also mostly sort of) and i ended up with only one job offer and i could not bring myself to accept and show up for... that was 40+ years ago... ok, i've now kept going on my trend of procrastination here...

Just a note--Middle DD complained that nurses are having a hard time finding her veins to take blood. She had an appt. a few days ago. I suggested that before the appt she drink a lot of water, and do a few minutes of vigorous exercise right before they are to draw blood. These things make your veins pop and easy to find.
Happy to report that she said it worked.

Apologies to the gentleman

What does a 60 year old man and a Christmas tree have in common?
The wood is dead and the balls are just for decoration
