Absolutely right, @Shades-of-Oregon :)

I have also used one just like in the picture I posted. I don't know when we began to be able to put water in irons like most of us have now but 60+ years ago, Mom didn't have one. Spray bottles came with the plastic age.

Cotton outer clothing creates a need for ironing, polyester – not so much. But, I still like cotton better.
Just bought DH 4 new pairs of socks bc he said he needed socks.
Bought online, all clearance, but I made sure that ALL of them were 50%-75% cotton.
Synthetic socks are like wrapping your feet in plastic, and in the winter you sweat and get Colder.
My outdoor feed the ponies wear is ALL cotton or wool. I got frostbite Once, when I had gotten my leather glove wet and it was -5 degrees F. My fingers were burning and I had to run my hand under tepid water to recover.

I had the same issues with hands and feet freezing will dry out hands and feet quickly. I use small hand and boot shaker packets to stay warm and comfortable. But with dry skin on feet and heels it’s literally a good thing to wrap them covered in crisco then sealed with suran wrap over night. Helps prevent crack sore feet and hands. I do the same on horse hoves goop up crisco then wrap sore dry hove with a baby diaper and secure with yeap you guessed it..Duct Tape heavy duty.

Anyway I digress. 🤭 During winters the horses grow out a furry winter coat. They look like long haired mammoths. Not fun in spring to brush out leaf baggies full of fur from each horse. But it’s a work out for triceps and biceps, and in the long run helps keep me in shape for gardening. Hehe… Scooping shovels of recycled hay out of the stalls also is a great exercise for both legs arms..back…Never a dull moment is there.
