Mine was the P.F. Flyers. Maybe the 👟 fashion passion wasn't gaining celebrity endorsements, etc. I recognized the name, is all.

There were no television stations in the communities where I was during my earliest years. Those iconic pictures of people frozen in front of radios, I remember the real-life scenes. Theaters had entertainment. Maybe there was a 3 Stooges short before the featured film but also news videos.

The scenes of current events were dramatic especially during times of military conflict and destruction.

remember the expression, "Falling out of bed."? i've done that more times than i can count, the hardest part is the landing... one time i fell out of the top of the bunk beds and managed to hit my ankle and my head on the same sharp corner of the dresser. amazing the things you think of when you're laying there laughing and crying...

Makes you want to reconsider pulling that rug from your bedroom...softer landing.

i sleep on futon now (about 15 inches elevation), and no rugs in this room at all, hardwood floor, i think i've only fallen out of this bed a few times, but it has happened...

for some years i was sleeping on the floor in an attic, that was the safest, but eventually it ended up being too hard on my hips and shoulders.

this is my 2nd futon and i spent a few hours cleaning the other day and dusting under it and part of that was flipping the futon pad over and dusting some chunks of carpeting off that have been under there for about 10 years. i've dusted under the futon twice a year or so since i put those chunks of carpeting under there but i'd never removed those and knocked all the dust off them. they were bad... i still need to dust the rest of the floor but that's not likely to happen for a week or two now - spot cleaning...

it's more outside weather now and garden tasks and projects outside and mowing are all back into the mix. i think i'm going to try to get out and mow for the first time today... chances of rain coming up and it is nice and dry out there now (as soon as the dew burns off). this will be the first outing with the lawn mower after i had the guy work on it last fall so much of how it might go will be a mystery until it happens... :)
