both of these projects were designed by the same person. i've been watching them since they started.
both are in very arid areas of the middle east. the difference is the first one was run by people who didn't follow what was taught and the second has been continually developed and the principles applied and i'm sure with bringing in more people means they've also been bringing in more humanure and also the water, but at least they are not losing those precious things and the area is improving.

but notice that even in the middle of desolation there is some kind of life persisting there. i wish someone would go take some close up pictures, i'd love to see it again even if there isn't much there.

both examples of permaculture principles and interesting approaches to life in a difficult place. to me they are signs of hope, that life can do quite ok if given some care and a bit of work, but clearly also shows that if you don't waste precious things then it will improve much faster.
