Cooking with Dog Food

I have a bag of dog food my dog hates. I have been told that it will make a compost pile cook. Is that true?

Dog food, especially cheap dog food, is mostly ground corn. I imagine that would get things going.

Use caution adding the food to your compost pile as it will attract wild animal to the "meat". I would recommend putting it in a covered compost pile if you do.
