Well I checked the Painted Mountain today, at least 250 plants up out of about 300 seeds and still more on the way.

That sounds great! 300 seeds-what is the size of your corn patch? I am asking because we will be moving to a bigger place and I will have more room to plant MORE! LOL

I picked some of my Rainbow corn Friday. The one end of the patch was pretty much ready, but some of the rest needs to dry a while.

I am 6' tall and haven't grown any corn except sweet corn for at least 20 years. One thing that took some getting used to was looking up to find ears to pick. Picture C was taken holding my phone as high as I could over my head.

Here's my sorry excuse for corn, feed corn. It's been an odd, low humidity, low heat, minimal rain type of summer. Some seem ready, others seem no good because they didn't get enough water and others failed to grow corn and one even had a kernel growing on the top fronds of the plant!! I don't understand how you go from grass and seed at the top to maze/corn with a random growth where seeds grow at the joint of blade and stem. =/

My rows are 45 feet long and I normally sow in a block but I will be hand pollinating anyhow so will get a good mix of pollen from each plant on each ear.

Glass gem corn. The pics a little green but it's beautiful corn. Picked a few that hadn't colored up yet was just a hint of color so left the rest out to see how it develops. I'll get getter pics of it too. It's pink, blue, purple, green, just beautiful stuff.

Its currently with my daughter for show and tell in her 1st grade class. She's awfully proud of it.
