In my living room I have whats called a fainting couch. They where very popular in south during Victorian times. They where for when woman where about to pass out from heat stroke, hopefully one was close bye to collapse into. Kind of crazy now a days but normal back then

I've always thought those were cute and the perfect size for lounging and reading a book.

Bee, they're better for taking naps in. The only thing that I don't like about mine is that it's too low to the ground. It's in my parlour and it looks out of scale with my wing back reading chair and piano.

They are blocks of wood, mostly used on beds to raise off floor
