Ha... its not like he drank it, he handled it properly it appears,
Maybe in France he did, don't know their environmental or OSHA laws. In USA, he did not, as you are to wear aspirators when handling any chemicals. Plus in USA, you have to take training classes, pass tests, etc to handle chemicals except what you can buy at your local farm store--glysophates, 2-4D's etc.

Again, what moron sticks his head in a tank full of chemical fumes? Here's your sign...........

Boxer, there have been many threads on this. Basic argument is can a plant breeder protect his investment in time/money. Then there are those that don't like GMO by anyone which I understand as my garden is GMO free. I also understand the American farmer did what he had to do to financially survive and GMO products do that. When the buying public will pay more for non-GMO products, guess what farmers will produce. Here's a bit of irony for you, EU won't grow GMO's but they have no problem buying, feeding or eating them.
Anything that can do you that much harm with only one breath has no place in our environment.

There are lot of chemicals in our homes, garages, sheds, etc. that cause more problems, it wasn't just one breath that did him in. He had his head over the tank and inside cleaning the tank with no protection. I find this totally amazing. That's like eating rat poision and complaining about blood not clotting....

The point he won on was that the packaging wasn't labeled correctly for him. Using that standard, everything we use, eat, etc can be a cause of a lawsuit. In France, a WINNING lawsuit.

I have to agree with Hoodat; anything that dangerous shouldn't even exist (well, apart from naturally dangerous stuff like venom and uranium). Nobody in their right mind should be manufacturing something that harmful. This is not fun and games. This stuff is deadly. That guy could have died from being exposed to Lasso like that. And think, what is this kind of stuff used for? They spray it (which is very deadly) all over OUR FOOD. I see a whole lot of Darwin Awards coming....

I looked at a webpage the other day that sells corn for seed to farmers in quantity. Some of them are GMO corns. Some were advertised as tolerant to roundup. some as immune to smut, others as immune to, shoot, a couple of wilts I never heard of.

Ya know, decently grown corn outgrows weeds, especially if the water and organic, or at least kind of organic, liquid fertilizer is placed right near the plants, and one or 2 quick cultivation passes are done early on.

Smut is hardly ever a problem unless the corn is grown on the same plot year after year without rotation, plus a lot of humidity hits the plants when they ear out. In other words, rotate the crop, and water right.

I know, it is not quite as easily done as said, but there is a lot of expertise being used to make GMO plants. Use some expertise the right way.
