We are still doing pretty good here on V. Island but the numbers are starting to go up due to some stupid people refusing to follow the simple rules. i was just in hospital for a day surgery, not a single case of covid but then they are pretty much on a lock down. No visitors allowed, hard to deal with for those in for any length of time, just have to grin and bear it. Better to be safe than sorry though.

me, im glad there are laws that curtail liberty.

for example? some young drivers may feel their liberties are infringed on because some stupid law says they can't drive downtown at 100 mph on the sidewalk.

another example? some geniuses think their rights are infringed because they are told to wear a mask.

both those examples, if total liberty prevailed could cause death.

I wear a mask to protect you from my germs, but when i see some genius brush past me without a mask, that genius is not protecting me from his or her germs.

For that teenager driver who is mad he can't drive crazy, I very much desire to put some real fear into his brain. wants to be a serial killer driving like that...for the genius not wearing a mask in public, same thing. put some fear into their brain. ...wants to spread germs that kill

better yet, instead of not wearing a mask, hop in your 12 cylinder pickup and go speeding on downtown sidewalks. you'll be doing the same thing, only faster.

After the unprecedented amount of time with restricted liberties, I get both points of view. But unfortunately, half-way measures make the whole system ineffective. Most of the stores in my area have "face mask mandatory" signs on their doors... but people walk in without masks anyway, and store employees are not allowed to challenge them. The problem I have with that is that it represents a lack of respect for those around them... the same lack of respect that a sick person displays when they choose to go into public places. IMO a ven diagram would show a considerable overlap between the two groups.

My former employer is begging for me to come back, and I would like to take the position being offered. But with COVID spiking in my county to the degree that it appears to be community spread, I can't risk it.

I'm beside myself. Why is the US president not in quarantine? Parading in his car for supporters. Why is he wilfully disregarding the health and safety of the special agents around him? They have no choice but to do their job. What do they get in return? A 14 day quarantine with or without pay? And perhaps an illness that can dragg on long after the virus has passed.

He doesn't care about anyone but himself.
As a world citizen it baffles me a person like that is even in the running for the grand USA.

It's even possible he tested positive before the debate? You gotta be kidding me!

Sorry bout the rant.

Ooofuf Amon ~ The President and the rest of us have most likely been exposed many of us will not test positive or show signs or symptoms ~ Our President and the First Lady have tested positive, we are told, and has and will keep distant and under the watchful eye of our Doctors until not contagious, we, I think were not well in February, I was damn sick, my daughters we pretty sick some a tad other showed nothing ~ you felt kinda under the weather around Christmas wasn't it ```

Pray for the President he's worked pretty hard in our behalf with the witches of hell and the left wing knashing their teeth getting violent ```

i'll say again....WEAR A MASK, WASH HANDS FREQUENTLY, SOCIAL DISTANCING AND CARRY A HAND SANITIZER IN YOUR PURSE OR POCKET. I'm in the position now where i have a health care attendant come in every morning to get me ready for the day. my daughter who is a business owner has brought me bags of hand sanitizers which can be refilled, ones that will clip on to a pocket or i.d. card to give out to my health care workers, smart girl, she has the name of her company on them;) we are taking this whole virus thing very seriously up here.

Sorry bout the rant.

he should be a role model, but he's a role model for many who are rather bullheaded and/or ignorant and intent on harming others through their continued bullheadedness and/or ignorance.

i don't wish ill upon anyone but if there was ever a moment of karma in this whole sorry drawn out affair it was when he got infected. i feel sorry for anyone around him who is harmed by his actions and his ignorance. i feel sorry for this planet which will bear the signs of his ignorance for many years to come now.

i think your rant entirely justified.

remember this, every new person infected is a possible source of mutations. it is now unlikely that we'll ever get rid of this virus with so many people infected and spreading it along with signs that some people carry it a long time. i just hope a vaccine will come along to at least give us a chance of greatly reducing how many cases are around each season so we can all get back to doing the rest of the things we'd like to do without worrying we're causing unneeded harm to others.

[edit, i'll add this video to this thread as it is worth watching]
