Bee, I love that color on the cushion. The green cabinet next to it is also very pretty.

Oops...that is a dresser/chest of drawers and it's yellow, though my camera didn't paint it that way. I LOVE this little chest of drawers and I've not seen one like it in all my travels. I think it used to have a mirror on the back of it. It's heavy as lead, dovetailed drawers, antique detailing, tiny wooden casters, etc. I left the coat of paint it had on it when I bought it but I've often wondered what it would look like if I stripped it...but I LOVE that shade of yellow.

NY, you know a lot about antiques and such...tell me about this little dresser. I left the door open at the bottom so you could see it was a door and not a drawer. My camera still doesn't do the shade of yellow justice but it's a buttery yellow I've not been able to find a match for no matter how hard I try...it never quite matches this hue.

Got it at a store many years ago that sold a mix of antiques, vintage items and "primitive" merchandise.

Love the rocker Bee, what a great deal! I was eyeing that dresser too, the green that the camera rendered it is one of my favorite colors, but yellow is my all time favorite.

Is this a special paint? What type is it? You know I'm going to go crazy painting cushions in bright colors! haha

You can get special fabric paint, but some of the blogs I read just used regular spray paint. I went with Rustoleum's paint that bonds to everything. Sat on them today, other than a fresh painty smell, they don't seem different. Maybe a bit stiffer. The next three will be done a little better, my spray painting skills aren't great and I got it a bit heavy on one of the cushions. I need to remember to do several light coats, not try to cover it in one fell swoop.

I tried taking a paint chip to Lowe's once and they said they no longer do color matching, but never tried Home Depot.

I'm almost afraid to paint it now, though....I love all the interesting dings and scratches it has and the paint quality is better than any I've found in recent years.

My mother HATES that look and will paint anything that stands still long enough, ESPECIALLY if it looks anything like "shabby". She once painted an old trunk I had found at a sale for $25 that was the perfect shade of green...I used it for years for extra storage and an end table in my living room. LOVED that look.

Mom comes along, is painting the walls and decides, for some strange reason, that I would prefer a fresh coat of paint on that trunk. Rendered it worthless except as to store things...it was put in a yard sale for really cheap later on that year.
