CRAZY warm Spring..with apologies to my West Coast friends here!

I have seen a few of those big brown beetles already--the kind that fly into your hair when you are outside at night. They are about 8 weeks early, maybe more. Also grass hoppers, about 1.25 inches long already.

Here is my spinach, planted last Fall and mulched. I harvested for dinner last night, and I've been nibbling leaves as I garden. The first picture shows some giant leaves, and you can see them in my 3 1/2' x 12 ' bed.
