Crossbred squash

I'm assuming that all the seeds from one fruit will produce the same but since different flowers on one plant can be pollinated by different plants, I guess you could get several different types from one plant. So, maybe I should save more than one squash for seeds. Then I have to plant some from each and wait to see what they produce. Yikes, this could get complicated. I will need more space!!
