I've got some butternut squash volunteers. sure hoping i get one or two. i planted a pumpkin today. I've always wanted to grow a pumpkin & never have. maybe this year is the year. it's supposed to be a big one, 25#. can you imagine? that would be the biggest anything i ever grew. :D

I think that I might pick out all but 3 or 4 and just leave them there. Who knows, maybe they'll make pumpkins?

After some comparison between what's in the big garden at the in-laws and my little mystery veggie, I think it's watermelon. If that is the case, then I have absolutely no clue on where it came from. Cantaloupe is much preferred over watermelon in this house. I'll eat it but its not my favorite. I'm sure the chickens will enjoy it though.
