Can you dehydrate them? My daughter lives in japan and produce isn't the best and she likes cucumber salad so I was thinking if I could do this and send a way for it to be almost like homemade she would be able to have her cuke and eat it too?:bow

Well, this is disappointing information!

First off, I don't know if cukes can be dehydrated or not. I haven't heard of cucumber chips that I can remember.

I have never visited Japan but I think of Japanese vegetable varieties as just about top of the line. I mean: like Sungold cherry tomatoes! In fact, many of our "English cucumbers" are actually Japanese varieties. At least this is true in the US. Tasty Green and Tasty King are both Japanese varieties, I believe. They grow well in my garden.

I even look for the Japanese soysauce at the market because I think of it as having a better flavor . . . Your daughter really can't find good fresh produce in Japan??

They live on an Air Force base and aren't able to leave base very often so they have to take what they can get at the commissary.
