When my daughter left home, she went shopping in my kitchen. I see some of my favorite kitchen items in her kitchen and it makes me happy that she treasures them as much as I did. I hunted down the old aluminum cookie cutters in flea markets when I had my son and my kids grew up making shaped sugar cookies. DD has them now in a gallon glass jar on her counter and she continues the tradition. I took a load of trash to the dump in Baytown when I was 20 and dug out an enamel ware colander, took it home, bleached it and cleaned it up. Yup, she has it too, along with mixing bowls, knives, cookware.....

'went shopping in my kitchen..' hah, hah. you've reminded me of when our son left home. 'take what you need' says i. i should not have spoken so loudly. two of his friends heard and thought they were included in the offer! it took me months to recover. :)

I was lucky my mom let me take my clothes. She believed the tougher it was for me the sooner I would be back home. Out of 4 kids I was the only one never to move back home.
