Talk to the authorities and your neighbors about the fact that it degrades the value of your property, Andrew.

People usually have ideas about the use of public property. They will have someone assigned to respond.

In my view, it is a good thing for neighbors to show interest in public property. It is public, after all. I read a Douglas MacArthur quote recently that gave me pause: "Wars are caused by unprotected wealth." I think neglect is a big part of that lack of protection that leads to future conflict.

As a gardener, I wouldn't want what may be living under that dead tree to be showing up in my garden sometime in the future. That may mean War!
