Youngest just bought a horse cart ~ showed me a picture ~ asked me if I wanted it ~ I said " it might be nice " we went and looked at it ~ over in Washoe Valley~ pretty nice ~ she wanted it ~ said she had been looking ~ we'll have to build a house for it ~ can't keep that one outside ~ lots of wood and leather ~ she paid $750 ~ I though she told me it was 6 ~ and the harness she bought separate 125 online ``` Seems like a lot of money ~ but she wanted it ```

Mama's folks had a Grape ranch in Yettem, California ~ she said they bought a new buggy every year ~ they cost $60 ~ at the time ~ late 1800s earley 1900s that was a lot then ~ I think an ounce of gold was less than $20 ```

No ~ an ounce of gold was $20.67 ~ the American Dollar was worth something then ```

Yettem they named after Garden of Eden ~the town it's self is very small ~less than 100 acres today ~ Saint Mary's Church is still there ~ we went there ~ a while back ~ the priest let the girls pull the rope to ring the Church Bell ```
There's a map of the town painted on the wall of the Church Hall ~ with the names of the people who owned a house painted on ~ Father's Last name ( my name ) is there ~ nice ~ over a hundred years ```

I just read that in each lot of land sold for $60 in 1909~ how could a buggy have sold for $60 ~Mama yavrum (darling)~ did you say $16? I can't tell that story anymore ```

Ok, looks like she was right ~ Sorry Mama ```

Buggies cost around $25 to $50, and could easily be hitched and driven by untrained men, women, or children. In the United States,
