Oh, this is a very capable girl we're talking about here Nyboy. Anyone who can train a bull for riding has what it takes to tackle a wild horse.
There's no mystique to a wild horses behavior, they are just horses that haven't been handled yet. You start out a bit slower is all.

We're driving a few miles each day, on wagon paths and paved roads.
When we got to the paved area, we saw the Buckskin Band off to the left watching us. One of the stallions led a couple of the mares up to where they could cut us off and get a better look at who we are. We stopped, not sure what they had in mind, as we continued the lead mare led them off and a stallion kept an eye on us.

Some nice looking buckskins in that band
