I've just covered a mile here in the house! Sixty laps of 88 feet each = 5,280! Hey. I was so pleased to learn that I had that 88' "track!"
December, 2015 on TEG :).

I didn't bother with the  mile for long because I can cover more than that, indoors, in 30 minutes – even with all the turns and arm waving. Still ;).

I read the other day that healthcare professionals consider sitting for more than 8 hours/ day as injurious to health. I guess that might be "in total."

Do you have plans for staying in shape for the off-season?

BTW. I do fairly well with daily 30 minutes walking and arm waving. Sunday, I missed because of afternoon company.  Then i missed yesterday because of needing to go in for one of those yearly jabs and waiting for an ordered home delivery and trying to understand why it was 1 item out of 6 that showed up. Anyway, they didn't neglect the olde guy and the other parts, shipped separately.

Deliver Neglect. Derelict .... :D Did you know that derelict and deliver have the same word origins? The final parts reflect the Latin word for "leave," if you leave me a little latitude for definitions. One might think that neglect would have a similar origin but I checked. Negative, it's more close to select :). So, we do get to choose ;).

I feel uncomfortable sitting in a chair for a long time. The most I can do is 30 minutes to an hour before I have to get up and move around. As far as the off-season---I have two kids. :3 There is no off season! Soccer is just around the corner, there's a whole house to be cleaned, taken apart, dusted, reconstructed. Just got done residing the whole outside of the house, and just eyeballing it, the bathroom could use a touch up too.

There's always something to do. You just have to look for it!

My 30 minutes of exercise today was an hour of pruning roses ;).

Not boring, because I had to pay attention not to hurt myself 😳.

Indoor environment exercising is boring. If you want to have some music to git ya goin'. Here is some from Jeff Beck that I started out with yesterday:

Beware of the thorns (as one who knows from my many past tangles with blackberry brambles). Nice tune!

A chilly, chilly day – altho, the sun came out this afternoon for just a few minutes.

I was busy during those few minutes so I walked 30 minutes later, indoors.

Let me tell you how I lift my pulse above 100 doing it. There are lots of turns in that "indoor mile" so I am only walking about 3 miles an hour, at most. That means, it's really more than a mile in 30 minutes but slloooww and I can't speed up safely.

This gentle stroll needs more effort. Therefore, every 4 steps, I do one of 2 things, make a rowing movement with my arms or lift my arms straight above my head - reaching. The movements are arm exercises that are helpful for the shoulders. That reach is somewhat difficult, the rowing is easier but I try not to be casual about either.

And now, a snide cartoon that seeing this afternoon, prompted me to post on this thread again ;).

I wouldn't feel comfortable doing this while walking along on the sidewalk but, every 4 steps during the 30 minutes of indoor walking – that's okay :D.
