slow it down and pay attention. those are my two things to improve things and to not fall as often. @digits, yes, i think they'd put you in michelin tires when you say you fall that often!
judo and aikido are good for learning how to fall, tai chi for improving balance especially if you practice outside on an uneven surface. once when walking to work i slipped on some ice and fell and it was such a coordinated fall that i practically bounced back up and didn't even break stride. i only wished i had some cute girl to have seen that as it would have been like the icing on the cake.
i don't practice tai chi any longer but once in a while i can still see it working... a few years ago my newphew was messing around trying to attack me and i deflected him and then tied him up like a pretzel so he couldn't move. afterwards he looked at me and asked me how i did that and i said, "I don't know, i just did it." sadly he's not really had the discipline to learn a martial art. it would be good for him.
