On a much lighter note:

This is the latest vaccine conspiracy idea.

I'm thinking of growing sideburns back but first, I guess that I can do a test using metal fragments.

You probably heard:

24,947 of Houston's Methodist hospital's employees were fully vaccinated by Monday. 178 employees were not (or, not yet) fully vaccinated and were suspended without pay for two weeks.

We can see the level of "resistance" to this, at 178 to 24,947.

As of 7 June:

64% of Americans over 18 have had at least one vaccine shot.

87% of Americans over 65 have had at least one vaccine shot.

Only 4 states have less than 50% of adults that have not been vaccinated.

i really haven't been following that story at all. that's an excellent percentage overall.

i think MI is really close to having at least 60% of adults with at least one dose and that brings more opening up steps in a few weeks once the state health department makes it official. personally, i'm hoping the variant doesn't get going and start a whole new wave, but perhaps enough people have been vaccinated plus those who've had it will make enough of a barrier to keep it under control. we'll know in the next few months... i'm not going to be changing much of anything here as i'm fairly routine.

Federal judge dismissed the lawsuit by many of the 100+ workers laid off by the hospital.

"Methodist is trying to do their business of saving lives without giving them the COVID-19 virus," the judge, said.

Edit: John Hopkins University Hospital will also require all personnel to be vaccinated.

it continues to be sad at times here, an ex-co-worker died from Covid the other day. people think this is over, it's still around and it's still killing people. :(

hospitalisations in MI are still going down, but very slowly:

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. ~ Aldous Huxley

Back in July of 2020, I wrote a note to @baymule @Carol Dee @seedcorn about DW's healthcare. I started to respond to that, nearly year old note, to update. Decided that I would give my response a day or two and think about editing. I learned that saving drafts in PM's must be for a limited amount of time, only.

That's okay. We went in to a regular appoint with her MD specialist Friday and were told -- "continue to wear your mask and maintain social distancing." At first, I thought that this was "abundance of caution" advice. He stopped and repeated it again before we were out of the room. Then, sent it in an "after visit" summary.

So, there we have it. NO Changes in what we have been doing for 15 months! Vaccinated people can be met in the "outdoors," he said. Ignoring this healthcare advice seems very unwise. And, I'm the other resident in the home.

with vaccinations i don't see any reason to wear a mask outside with others. i will wear a mask when shopping just because Mom will probably be wearing a mask and i'm ok with wearing them anyways. wash hands when coming home. wash hands again after putting away groceries (even if they say that transmission from surfaces isn't a big issue i still think it is just common sense anyways).

i'm expecting some of the lesser vaccinated states to have yet another surge with the new variant going around, i hope not, but my hopes have often been shown to be too optimistic where this pandemic is concerned.

outside, yes, a good thought, if i had a hammock in the shade i'd be in it now reading a book or napping. :) peace and *hugs* to you and DW.
