Mine wasn't as nicely done as that one, but I still look at it now and again and smile...I find it to be whimsical to have a tiny daybed for the grandgirl made of something old that her Granny repurposed for her.

This is a pic of it before I upholstered it for sleeping, built wider than a typical bench so she could use it as a daybed....

Then after....

She loves this bed and gets really good rest in it, so I consider it a win.

Will be building four more bedstead benches this season, each vastly different from each other. One will be out of a small, old metal bestead and that one is for my garden. One is for the dogs to lounge upon, one for my son's back yard and one for the grandgirl's playhouse~that one will be made from a little wooden youth bed.

Bee, you did a beautiful job on that! It's wonderful. And your grandbaby is just too adorable.

Thanks, guys! The best part about that bench? The bedstead cost $7 at Good Will and it's solid cherry. I had a hard time cutting it and drilling it, it was such a tough piece of furniture. This bench has been wt. tested up to 700lb and could probably go higher than that.

The rest of the frame wood I had on hand and the wood for the seat was bought cheaply as seconds at Lowe's.
