Never have, never will. I don't really shop anyway, let alone on such days as that. We don't do holiday shopping or gift giving and such any longer, so there's no need or desire to shop at this time of year.

It's blissfully peaceful to not have to worry about all that holiday mess, but mighty irritating to have to go to town for groceries and run into all that materialistic madness.

Yes. Actually starts here Thursday at 6 PM. It's interesting to see what people value. DD wanted a Smart TV, she got a 55" Phillips Smart TV for less than $300. Got board games to give away to charities and other things. By smiling, saying hello, people were friendly and helpful. Yes it was busy but all in all, good time was had.

Now on Black Friday, we went around 10 AM. They had plenty of what I wanted so instead of standing in long lines, went back at 3, got it, went to register, paid and walked out. Kid that checked me out, I gave him a rough time with smile then thanked him. I left with him and me both laughing.... Midwest living at its best.

I went into a local farm supply today, they had ads that were for different specific items, discounted on different days.
Some were for Fri, some Sat and some today.
I believe they opened at 9 today, it was noon before I got there, looking for a certain firearm they had marked down $50 for today only.
I had seen their ad last Tues and checked around. The 3 places I checked said the advertised price was less than they pay, now these are family owned type gun stores, and the outfit with the ad has about 10 stores.
Anyway I figured by noon today I was way too late, not so, the fellow that ran my NCIS check said they had some more left to be sold and that if I were interested in any of their Fri or Sat sale specials I could still get the sale pricing today.
Two things I gather from this is either the rush for guns is over since the election and they didn't figure on people being tired of being elbowed to death over a few dollars savings.

I don't go out shopping on Black Friday. I lay back in my recliner. and enjoy looking over, not 2 feet away, at my hubby working his magic little fingers over the keys of his computer. My little shopahaulic....

He got a 8 camera security system retail $900 for $400 not 5 minutes before the big Black Friday sale ended...It has the works, wireless, box, the works and even a modem is built into it as not to use your own too much. Works with my smart phone also. I just love it when the sickness comes out in my hubby....

I feel like I posted this here before but can't find it....LOL

No - Never!!
But that one year.....
When my sister in law was living with me - she is a DEDICATED Black Friday shopper! - she spent half the day texting me about sales and I ended up getting her to bring home about a quarter of my whole Christmas shopping list.

If you go with the idea that you have to have an item, it can be a very bitter time. If you go with a "if I get it fine, if I don't fine" attitude, it is a fun time. The few pushy people you end up feeling sorry for.

3 years ago, I needed a TV. Looked on the internet, went to Black Friday, nothing. Went online again, found the JCL TV that was better than I wanted but price was right. No stress, it's not life or death.

Missed the bus on Cyber Monday too... Too tired to look at anything right now.
