I have a "stockman's" knife in my pocket most of the time.

The one that my dad gave me years ago opens easily. Unfortunately, that Old Timer also closes easily. I keep it in the pickup in case I forget the Craftsman. The Old Timer sharpens to an incredibly sharp edge. Unfortunately, I can't be trusted to use it safely.

DW got me a piece of junk at Cabela's. The steel is so hard I just refuse to do the work necessary to sharpen it. It's held its edge well for several years because I use it so seldom. At some time, I'll decide it has too little value and toss it.

I always carry one. Same thing Grandpa gave me my first one was an old Buck knife and it's safely tucked away. That and the big buck sheath knife my wife gave me with my initials engraved in the handle are the 2 I care about most.

Last few years I've been carrying a 3-ish inch blade that folds and will lock open so I know it's not going to close on me. The one I carry at work has a window punch however at home the one I carry doesn't.

It's not a party till one of my kids or a niece or nephew asks me to cut the plastic zip ties to release a toy they got as a gift.

We played a variant when I was a kid. I can't remember the exact rules but we played barefoot, no shoes. Of course I didn't wear shoes in the summer unless I was going to town, going to church, or I was doing some farm work where shoes were kind of required. I remember a first cousin splitting my toe, the one next to the big toe so her aim was really lousy to hit that far inside, then she tried to say it was my fault. My foot did not move. She's still the kind of woman that can do no wrong.

We played mumblypeg as kids. But, it was always with shoes and throwing beside our own feet!

I was good at it.

There were always things I was better at than my older brother, who practically lived for sports. These things irked him something terrible! I would be challenged until I'd grow sick of the contests. It was a relief when he would tire and wander off to pout.

Of course, losing at mumblypeg is always somewhat embarrassing ... ;)
