Exactly! How does life get this cluttered? And we are slow living people who don't accumulate things much...well...compared to most folks....but it still tends to accumulate, even in this minimalist kind of life. Seems like I spend most of my life moving things around and cleaning the spaces we have to hold the things. o_O

The only thing I can think of is my taxes, haha. Does that count?

Mary
Speaking of taxes... in yesterday's major IRS audit of a tax preparer for fraud ... this person would give his clients tax advance payments at a low level but collected tax refunds from the IRS for his clients and deposited the funds into his business bank account, then transfered the funds periodically to different bank accounts then he would make another transfer to an account of another company to pay the tax refunds to his clients at a much reduced rate, pocketing the difference well into 6 figures. Also, he started a multilevel marketing tax preparing company in States that do not have tax preparer licensing. He takes in several thousand dollars but he does nothing but has the person buying the license to take courses offered for tax preparers by H&R Block and others then open their own doors to do business. Then to do the same and collect their licensing fee for recruiting someone to do the same thing while sending him his upline fee earnings. This is shady at best . After the audit is complete , the results will be turned over to IRS attorneys as well as to several State Attorney Generals for prosecution . So, add to check out your tax preparer thoroughly before you sign on to his / her services .

I thought servants in Idaho wore blue overalls.

I'm a believer in getting things done by following a routine. The more that I can get outta the way, the more free time! One problem I have in annual or daily chores is remembering what I need to do, when.

Examples: The garage is locked overnight and on my way out with the trash and recyclables I was proud that I remembered the key. When I returned from the garage and garbage cans, I was dismayed to find my old electric toothbrush right beside where I picked up the key!

No, I hadn't been in the process of brushing my teeth when I began gathering the cans and headed off. The old toothbrush had been replaced. I got the info that it could be broken and the battery recycled. I practically had to push it outta the way to pick up the key.

Now, cleaning that kitchen fan cover. You may remember me mentioning cleaning the kitchen walls and cabinets just the other day. Good exercise! So, why did I have to bring the ladder back in the house to clean that fan?? Other than that it's typical Steve behavior.

@bobm , I have always done my own taxes but there was one year when I was on Tylenol #3, by MD's prescription. I had to get off it before mid-April so that could focus on what I was doing!

I looked at both states sales tax webpages, here on the border. The form required from me was the short one but ... I'd always filled out the long one! Couldn't easily understand what the difference was, went back to the long form ...

The ID webpages are kinda funny. Right there, first page - they tell you the history of the sales tax rate. Starts with 1968, so you can flinch, I guess, at each increase over the half century! (I flinch at sales tax on food o_O!)

At the bottom of the page, there are the relevant tax laws. It's as tho - "we are sorry about these rate increases but you better be sure, we got the power to take the $$!" As if the residents might not expect more from the state after the population has more than doubled and all those years have passed.

this morning decided to start working on the g/t rebuild, first area went great, the second area wrong shaft size..grrr. the third area wrong part....grrrr
both are crucial components. dug out the parts manual yup they match up with whats on the tag... so going to take them back with photos..
the most important part of the rebuild is to replace the main engine pulley, yeah i figured being 17 years old it might be hard to get it off. it's not budging yet, shoot it full of wd-40 will go back out later and tap on it. if that does not work watch a video on how to remove it....fingers crossed hope i do to have to pull the engine..

love winter chores....
