I've tried to be a good boy but my self-control is weak this morning. I know it is a character flaw so I apologize in advance to anyone I may offend. This thread reminds me of a thread over on the chicken forum a while back. Barfy was eating chicken poop. Hes going to die!!! How can I stop this and save his life??????

My response was along the lines of it being perfectly normal for dogs to eat chicken poop. Most disease organisms are pretty species specific. It is highly unlikely a dog will get a serious disease from a chicken, just like it is highly unlikely a chicken will get sick from scratching and eating other animals poop.

Poop is full of highly concentrated partially digested nutrients. It is a great food source for many animals. I have absolutely no problem with my dogs eating chicken poop and see no reason to stop them.

I might feel differently if I French-kissed my dogs, but I dont so Im not worried about where their tongue has been.
You are so right! Some of the posts about normal animal behavior are side splitters! (as in laughing so hard your ribs bust open) It does make you wonder where these people come from.......but then you gotta hand it to 'em, at least they are trying to get past McDonalds chicken nuggets. But the ones that put diapers on their house ducks and house chickens are over the moon! Gheesh! I think I need to go get a plate and let my chicken poop eating dog lick it clean. :gig

(I have read some of your posts, I think you show admirable restraint) :thumbsup
