WooHooo!! I finally have flowers blooming! There is still a lot of weeds and a lot of empty space, but there are sunflowers, penstemon, trumpet vine, calendula, petunia, stock, purple coneflowers, roses and hollyhocks blooming so far! NEXT year, the place should look awesome! :rose

There are 3...:weee
One has red trumpet vines, one has honeysuckle and one has silver lace vine. You can't see them yet, but I am betting next year they grow like gangbusters and cover by the end of next summer! :throw

I APPROVE  All Three are stunning vines and the Silver Laces will smell heavenly. The hummers will love the trumpet and honeysuckle vines.

Sounds wonderful! I feel like an artist when I plant the gardens- I just don't know what the paintings will look like, until mother nature does her part! I must have missed the cattle panel arches. How did you attach them to the ground?

we bent them between the posts, as they are where the gates go. We pounded some rebar in the ground and wired them to it about 6" up so I can weed underneath. I am liking them a lot, as I spent a small FORTUNE putting arches in at my other house using wood and buying premade metal ones! Next year, I think they will look awesome

I always have my eye on those trellis and arches, I am just too cheap to buy them. I wonder if I could use two somehow, as a grape trellis... Now you've got me thinking! I would love to see pics, if you get a chance.

I bought one of the expensive pretty ones before, but once the vines cover it up, u can't tell what is under there anyway! This is a $20 investment

Another great use for cattle panels! Those are going to add so much interest and dimension to your garden when they fill in. :)

I finally have stuff blooming too, it's finally starting to feel like summer. I sure wish my silver lace had survived. I tried two years in a row and it just wouldn't over winter. Now I think the problem was it's position on the south side of the house with too much temperature fluctuation.

Your garden sounds like it's going to be a riot of color!

Oh, that looks even nicer than I imagined! Love it! Definitely on my to do list! Thanks for posting the pic- I might just show it to DH. If it wasn't my idea, he might be more receptive to it!
