Put bare root strawberries in 2 weeks ago. They're already on a rampage! Hope this lasts like this all season long.

Yum!!! I love strawberries and though I have several plants that are working hard to deliver berries for me I will be going strawberry picking next week to procure enough for jams and freezer to last the year!!! I love when the different harvest seasons begin!!! :celebrate

after getting home from a cluster of a monday at work. took a look at the asparagus's in the bed, looks like they are slowing down figure 1 or 2 more pickings and let them go to fern.

the asparagus here is done & ferns are growing. a couple of the onions have bent over, so I may be getting into harvest time for them. squash is starting to produce, tomato plants setting babies. potatoes starting to look like they might bloom soon.
most of the cabbage is gone. three left. cucumbers & peppers off to a poor start. we'll see how they do. eggplant is starting to bloom.

Dang! I just don't know about the weather!

I just went back to that WS link I posted all of 3 days ago. The 8 to 14 Day Outlook now looks to be well below normal -- the complete opposite!

What to do with the root-bound tomatoes? What will the people I promised tomato plants this week do with theirs? I get extremely disappointed when they set them out and neglect them. Meanwhile, I can be killing myself with the bucket brigade if frost is predicted later this week or next! (I can also be unsuccessful with the buckets protecting the plants as I've proven in the past :/.)

Oh well, life is an adventure. At least, root-bound peppers can be held back and it is a good thing that the melon & cucumber starts aren't ready to go out there . . .

Steve
