what recipe do you like for fried green tomatoes?
tomatoes sliced on the madalin 1/4" thick
lightly dusted with flour
quickly tossed in buttermilk
breaded in italian bread crumbs
deep fried in peanut oil<or your choice of oil >

serve with ranch dressing...

well tonight i switched it up..
we had a piece of blue cheese so grated some up
placed the fried tomatoes on a cookie sheet.
with the oven set on broil
placed a few pieces of cheese on each tomatoes and placed in oven, till melted

wow talk about delicious..

now if we had prosciutto here, could have added that and fresh basil to it.

would make drool for more...
hum got to work on that one...
Thank you ! its pretty much the same recipe Im using !!

I harvested my first "mess" of green beans of the season, and a nice 5 lb cabbage today. Dug up the garlic yesterday, which I had planted last spring.

Rain, rain, rain...slugs, slugs, slugs...

But on a happy note; I was able to harvest a huge bag of 3 different lettuces for a lady I work with this morning. And noticed that my peas will be ready for pickin for tonight's dinner of home raised pork roast which is currently in the crock pot. :love And we have more then enough lettuces to make a wonderful salad to go along with. YUM!

oh, stubbornhill that sounds delish. "home raised pork", i'm so jealous.
It was! I tossed it in the crock pot, glugged some balsamic vinegar over it and then dumped in a large jar of black current jam that I made last year. It cooked in the crockpot for about 10 hours and fell apart like pulled pork. And the PEAS!!!! Oh my goodness. I don't like peas. But now I like "MY PEAS" from my garden. They were so good!!!! I must figure out if I can plant some at the end of the season. I know they like cooler weather.
