This is just a practice thread. We went snowshoeing and I took some photos with my phone. Finally got them loaded on the laptop, using @ninnymary 's method of emailing to myself. Thanks Mary!

I tried to load them into my pictures file but wasn't having much success. My computer kept telling me there were no files in that device. Whatever.
I'll have my computer tech get right on it (aka Kid#2) but in the meantime I want to see how I did with the emailed ones.

I had to resize them all to 25% to get them to upload. That's a lot of dinking around, can't see me doing that for all the photos I usually take.
Anyway, that's my husband today when we went to the park to snowshoe, and the bottom one is a big cat track we saw crossing the trail.

On iPhone or iPad, just hit "upload a file". Go to photo library, & get it, them...

I have an Android. And I'm sure there's a simple solution, but I'm going to let the kid earn his salt and do it for me. That's why I had kids after all.

That's when you give them a big bear hug and tell them how much you appreciate them. Shuts them right up and makes them think twice before repeating it.
Works with my boys anyway, haha.

I think Steve can walk you through the process. I keep forgetting how to post a pic from my phone, but at least it is possible. Never did learn how with the laptop.

If I am on the cell phone browser and am reading TEG threads, wish to reply with a picture, click "Upload a File," and click "Camera" ... my photo will be too large to upload and I will get that error message.

Having taken the picture, the phone has automatically stored it in "Documents" on this phone. I can open that photo, click the "Crayon" icon, and edit. Cropping the picture by about 1/3rd, I have reduced it enough to post.

I may not want to crop a picture altho it doesn't take much practice with the camera to include a wider background so that I can feel that it's appropriate to crop it. I don't have many editing options with the cellphone.

I can email it to myself and download it into the PC or tablet where I have a quick and easy editor in Paint. Resizing at 75% makes it possible for TEG gallery to store and display.

Often, I am sending it to Photobucket and downloading it back from there, if'n I don't want to just post a link with a Photobucket url here on TEG. Posting a url:

Photobucket allows me to download an image to the computer or phone and that process of sending it through Photobucket resizes it and it can go directly on TEG.

Okay, you can't really know that I just downloaded that Halloween picture from Photobucket and uploaded it back into this post but I did!

I've done it this way also. I just hate the small screen when I'm writing a post. That's why I do the email route. I love using my desktop because of the big screen and keyboard.

Remember,

TEG has a great "Save Draft" function.

You can struggle with the little screen to hit that floppy disc icon above your message, then click "Save Draft." Later, you can come back on your PC and there is your picture. Then, type, type, type ... type!
