So...
I get this call yesterday from the local Champaign-Urbana (IL) rag about how our town cleaned up after the derechio a couple of weeks ago.
Here is what the reporter published:
Kid across the street texted me about yardwork this week. He came out Friday and put in 5 hours, chopping burdock and saplings from my fencelines and piling it up.
Saved Me HOURS of work. I am very greatful!!
He has done really good work over the past 5 years.
First tomato harvest, on Wednesday. Got Lots of big and green ones...should be ripening soon.
I have milked these with DH, even though they were sliced and eaten up with hamburgers.
Guess you didn't KNOW that tomatoes are a dairy food group.
NO pictures yet, but I harvested all of my garlic. 19yo came over this week to work. I had him cutting burdock, but there were bees hanging around and he's allergic, so I switched his job to my big garden.
I harvested ALL of the garlic there, and had him rake up weeds, etc. and dig up the huge weeds that are shallow rooted.
Everything got piled up where I burned the last pile.
I gave him a big garlic bulb and he found 2 more and announed that he would keep them!
Don't muzzle the ox.
Eldest DD has been given free rein to try one of those "__________ w/20 cloves of garlic" meals.
Some of the bulbs have some cloves sprouting.
I will separate them next week and plant THOSE first.
Dunno how long these will last--all are hardneck--so I will try freezing.
In short, yes, you can freeze garlic without affecting its flavor, whether whole or chopped. It may lose its crunchy texture but will remain usable in various dishes. A little garlic goes a long way. So, if you have bought a bag of bulbs, you might find the garlic sprouting, shriveling, or...

BTW, THANK YOU, @flowerbug !!
I didn't get a big harvest, but ALL of the "seeds" are huge compared to the seeds from the other garlic that I grew.
I have saved both. When they are dry I will store them.
