from article...
high consumption of the controversial sugar substitute
imagine it took 8 years of education to get their phd, who knows how much $$$$ from whom to tell us high consumption is detrimental to our health. Earthshattering research by Duke University.

They would get the same results for overconsumption of any sugar source--white processed sugar, raw sugar, honey, etc........

There is no controversey except by the white sugar people who saw their markets eroded By using American grown corn syrup, how many slaves were not forced to work in sugar cane fields? Would love to know who financed this report.

There have been a few recent HFCS studies showing it to be uniquely damaging and fattening.

Just confirming suspicions I had years ago. I have avoided it for 3 years and preach its evils at any opportunity :D

Personally when I get that crappy arguement about it being "fine in moderation" I force folks to define moderation... because every day, every meal or even every OTHER meal if your a regular person AND careful is STILL TOO OFTEN.. this is not moderation.

same for practically everything.

like pesticides... sure.. they WERE a good idea... IN MODERATION... but in suburbs & cities across the U.S. and a select few other countries the people BLANKET our earth with the stuff, regularly, seasonally and PROUDLY!! :/ this is not moderation.. no way no how

of course the bees, the bats and all the good insects are dying. :(

The ONLY things we're allowed excess of is:

MIXED vegetables... and NOT to the excess of neglecting the OTHER dietary needs of humans.

Personally, if refined white sugar and honey were causing these issues why didn't we have the health problems before they introduced HFCS into most processed foods?!

Plus, a good percent of the population REFUSE to believe anything without solid evidence. They rather us waste time and money to show actual numbers that something is fattening rather then looking at the scale in their bathroom because of their bad habits.

I blame it on the government for making corn a commodity rather then a food. We're too busy hording this unedible grain by the mounds to turn into something chemically induced.

If its NOT edible in one form, why would be eat it if we have to process it 100 times to make it edible?!

It reminds me of this stupid phone call I got last night. This guy had some eggs left over in the fridge that expired last month. He was so determined to eat the eggs and feel they were ok to eat, that he called me and insisted on wanted to know if he could add anything to them IF they had spoiled so he could still eat them. I told him why play dumb with your health when you can come over to me house 2 minutes up the road and I have fresh eggs from my chickens.

He didn't want to waste the gas over a few eggs?!!?

COME ON PEOPLE! FOR REAL?!?!

We did.

If its NOT edible in one form
May I assume you are talking about corn? If so, in what form is it not edible, cornbread, pancakes, mush, polenta (for those that think it's different than just ground corn ) ? I eat it while walking corn fields. Now dried to 14%, plain, not the best food in world. I like okra, but raw, think not.
