I ordered from a few different places, and when I wanted to remind myself what the tomatoes would look like, I just Googled the tomato name and where I bought it. Good luck!:)

Well, I know what kind they are as in, early girl, roma, etc.; I just don't know how to find out if they are determinate or indeterminate.

I had read somewhere that the Amish pull all their tomato plants (roots and all) from the garden and hang in their root cellar with tomatoes on them and they continue to ripen and in some cases produce for a short while. I have nevered tried this but it sound like it might work.
Yep, it works. They keep on another 3-4 weeks or so like that, depending on what kind of tomatoes--it's not so much the tomatoes will get bigger or you'll get a lot more, rather the green ones that are on there will ripen slowly and the smaller green ones will become medium-sized. Bad part is, when they do start to go bad, you will have nasty tomato slime on the cellar floor, and the dirt sticking to the roots will also end up on the floor. Putting a tarp underneath helps, unless you have pets/spouses/children who obliviously run through the mess and track it all over the house...

Thanks for the tarp hint Rosalind. I know if that happened I would be on here whining like a baby.

Potterwatch, here are some links to help you figure out your tomatoes.

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Main_Page
(this is for hertitage tomatoes, I didn't know what you have)

http://kitchen-gardens.suite101.com/article.cfm/determinate_versus_indeterminate_tomato_plants

If these link do not help try searching the type of tomato and you should get info on them. Or list them here, someone will know.

I grow both and have no problem with either type. Actually the determinate are less work and I do prefer them, slightly.
