Eagals~Remember

I live in the country, but I love my rock & roll! I do have some country favorites, but rock is what gets me going.

The Eagles are one of my favorite bands. I listen to them a lot. I had no idea that Glenn Frey had RA for the last 15 years. Having RA myself, I know the pain he must have went through on a daily basis.

So sad to hear of his passing.

@henless, I, too, have RA, as well as a few other folks on here. I am guessing that Glenn Frey was on one of those biologic drugs like Orencia or Remicade. I'm sure you know they weaken the immune system to the point that it puts the patient in danger of infections/viruses that refuse to go away. I have resisted going on one of these drugs, for that very reason. My mom had RA, took biologics, and I watched her go through infection after infection, always on antibiotics, always hurting. I don't think the rheumatologists are very forthcoming about the dangers of these drugs.

I hope you are managing your RA well. Let me rephrase that: I hope your RA is not keeping you from living a full life. Glenn Frey seemed to live a very full life. We should all do so well! What ever burdens we have to drag around with us!

I was very lucky to have my dream of seeing John Denver live at Villa Montalvo, SF Bay Area, a few months before his death. As a fan since the early 70's, I was thrilled. I walked down the isle to a John Denver song.

I also got to see Moody Blues at a Tahoe club - after their first song, the fella you slip $20 to, moved us right up front. Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, etc.

That's the stuff memories are made of.
