We just saw the other parent come back with a bluegill. Then he flew off and the mama (I'm guessing) started tearing it in little bits and feeding it to the baby. He's a voracious little eater! We'll be checking in on them often.

We have an Eagle cam set up in Davenport, near the Alcoa Plant, and it can be viewed online. Every year when the little ones hatch they hold a contest to name them. The parents are named Liberty and Justice! The upriver in Decorah (I think) there is another.

Now if we could only talk Marshall into setting up a live cam in Bigfoot's lair that would really be something.
Feeding that eagle chick is like dropping food into a bottomless pit.

Thanks @jackb ! I will be checking in daily!

The Decorah Eagles are sitting on 3 eggs again this year, will hatch around the end of the month/beginning of April, I think. Such beautiful birds!

I found an injured eagle in our woods last summer. We called the raptor center out, but it had a broken back so they were not able to save it. :( Thank goodness I found him though, so he didn't have to suffer any longer.
