DH has AT&T it cost over $100 a month and he is constantly having trouble with the range. My $10 month Tracfone flip phone gets better cell range than his. I do borrow his phone to take pictures though. My cell actually takes good pictures but it's too complicated to send them to my email or facebook.

To be fair he does use it for everything like texting, pictures, internet surfing, facebook and even watching movies. Personally I don't see how you can see a small screen to watch TV on.

You will be happy for the change once you get used to it. See thistles' post. She isn't upset. She used to make fun of us. Now she is one of us.

That's a scary thought... haha.

Gee, was I really that negative? :hide

U.S. Cellular did not work for my brother and sil. But they live in the sticks amongst a lot of hills and valleys, and even Verizon, which has excellent coverage around here was spotty for them.

They started building the infrastructure much earlier than we did. Landlines were never all that prevalent in third world countries so cell phones had fast and firm acceptance from the start. Even a bad connection early on was better than no service at all.

America tended to continue reliance upon Ma Bell-type lines because they were already in place and so very reliable.

Mobile data consumption will soon surpass fixed broadband - LINK That isn't necessarily my prediction for you NyBoy ;).

I'm not sure why using tablets as phones isn't more common other than the obvious carry problem. Of course, the tablet would need a phone number.

Any mobile device can use Skype.

Hmm, I am not sure what kind of phone mine is but I like it. My husband brought it home for me because I do NOT like the google phones. They spy on you. Or else there is some other reason I magically get a target coupon for a product I frequently purchase while passing a Target. >_> Creepy.

This one I have now my husband bought because it clips into a virtual reality head set and you can watch movies while staring at stuff going on behind the film. I spent most of my time looking up just because I could and missed most of the show.

As for the phone itself it works great, but so does every phone I've had. :)
