Updating- Not going to bother touching or pruning the tree anymore. Also not adding more. Planing on moving in 2020 if all goes well and thus, there is no point in adding trees when everyone buys land just to divide up and sell for more houses....ugh.

Have you tried chicken wire? Even MY horses can't eat a tree through that.
Actually, the horse pruning won't kill it. Figure out how to keep the horses off of it and it should be fine.
