Evidently "being in his glory"only lasts so long. I'm thinking we're going to keep his snow shoveling down to no more then 40 minutes per half day. He came in after 40-ish minutes, took a coffee break and went back out for another half hour before DS brought him back in weaving like a drunk. No more today.

DS said he will finish the driveway tomorrow. It is long and wide. There is enough to drive in and out as well as to turn around, so it is good. The turn-around part can wait another day. I sure do wish I could get my garden tractor in for repairs so I could use the snowblower attachment. I need the truck for that and DS has constant use of the truck. He's the one who needs to take things in for me -- or go without transportation himself. I want my snowblower!

I don't think there is anything you can do until it happens. We don't know if our leach field is compromised. Just DH coming home with others saying theirs is. Backing up into the house from all of the saturation already in the soil.

usually with this amount of rain the toilets start burping, not a one yet...fingers crossed

:fl:fl I sure hope that works for you!:fl:fl You and yours have all the work you need right now. No snow would be a real blessing for you.:fl:fl I have my fingers crossed!

Here in South-est, central-est Wisconsin it would be futile to hope for a snowless winter. Light snowfalls are the best we can wish for. Light snowfalls without blizzard winds to plug up the roadways with drifting.

ugh, got about 4" of snow today here. didn't have time before having to go to work to do anything with the driveway. when i got home dh was also getting in the door. so upset the driveway wasn't done when i had to pull into the driveway. the stuff is glazed over so it's nothing light about it. went to start the snow thrower and it wouldn't start. dh says he checked it over in September sometime but all he did was check the oil and made sure it started then. :thnot happy. probably has water/ice in the fuel lines of all things to deal with this time of year.

This warm weather sure has been kind to my old dog. She has been going for strolls outside and her arthritis hasn't been bothering her much. We've barely burned maybe one truckload of firewood so far this year, if that puts things in perspective. I've got a few things still growing in my garden too, swiss chard, escarole, etc. I've got another broody banty too! This one managed to hide from me for over 2 weeks. Finally found her in the woodpile (which we haven't been using, LOL.) Ava and I moved her and her 5 good eggs into the garage this evening. I am expecting peeps any day now!

It's supposed to get cold for at least a few days, more seasonal temps like in the 40's during the day. But it's not going to stay there, so they say.
