I planted these pansies last spring and they managed to survive the prolonged sub-zero temps we had this winter. They are fuller and prettier than they were the first time around!

Last year I saw these heart shaped leaves in this hollow and meant to take a pic then because the hole is nearly heart-shaped as well and I thought it made for good symmetry and beauty. This morning we noticed this....violets blooming in our poplar tree.

The dogwood must be something of "America's tree" and Major' did a good job capturing its spring beauty with the camera.

. I understand that there are dogwoods right across the northern hemisphere. Any dogwoods in the southern, Sumi? Surely, it has found a home as an ornamental ...
Varieties of Major's native dogwoods are the ones in our yards here. I had thought they might be developed from the wild dogwoods, mostly near the Pacific but, no.
