Epiphyllum German Empress... Just one of a few I have rooting now... Wish me luck.. I guess they are one of the super fussy Orchid Cactus.. But I like a challenge...

This one has a tendency, I hear to make people crazy trying to keep it going... I just have to try.. I've made new friends in the World of Epi's, hear a few different things about German Empress and how to keep her going... I just have to try...

Wow! Beautiful! I've never seen anything like that before.
The German Empress is stunning with its complete over abundance of blooms... That's the reason I'm willing to try and get one of my own going.. if only half of the cuttings I bought root and grow, I'll have enough cuttings to start at the very least, 3-6 full size stunning stand alone plants... One of which is going to my daughter... Most epi's don't produce like this one, but it's rumored to be super fussy about its growing conditions... Wish me luck...

Yup! You've got the plant bug. Now, don't be listening to Nyboy and start a collection of orchids. Those are even more expensive and difficult than epi's.

Okay, if fairness, Nyboy doesn't grow or push growing any and all orchids. He just buys them in flower and gifts the plants away after they flower. Still, getting one is just the way some of us start a collection.

I wish you good luck with your attempts.

I haven't found the epi's I've grown to be overly difficult to start or to keep alive (other than freezing them out) but I've not spent any time trying to get mine to flower. Either it just happens or it doesn't.

The members here are very good at sharing, trading, and gifting plants to gardening friends from time to time. I have another trading site that I use. If it is alright with @Nifty and @sumi, I could share that URL with folks here.

Can't do it otherwise. Ya'll know I'm not a trouble maker.
Can you PM a link to it, so I can see it?
