There are a lot of wasps on my property, and for the most part we have a mutual non-aggression pact. They are tough, relentless insect hunters, and highly beneficial in the garden. Those large hornet nests, though, are just too dangerous for my comfort... especially with rambunctious grandchildren running about. I get one of those nests somewhere about every other year. If they are close to human pathways (which is usually the case) I wipe out the nest as soon as possible.
