Farmed salmon are raised in net pens in coastal waters along Washington state, Maine and British Columbia. Most commonly, the fish being raised are Atlantic salmon, and the fear is they'll escape and compete with endangered native stocks. By some estimates, between 400,000 and 1 million Atlantic salmon have escaped into the wild from the 75 or so net-pen operations in British Columbia.
If they were sterile, I'd be OK w/it. If they are not, don't want them in same environment as natives.

For those that say they are against it PERIOD, think mule, zebra crosses, buffalo crosses, etc.
Remember this quote from "Jurassic ParK"? It may have been just a movie but the quote is very true.
"Broadly speaking, the ability of the park is to control the spread of life forms. Because the history of evolution is that life escapes all barriers. Life breaks free. Life expands to new territories. Painfully, perhaps even dangerously. But life finds a way." Malcolm shook his head. "I don't mean to be philosophical, but there it is."

I wanted to give you something with a little more meat on it, no pun intended, so I will keep investigating and looking for other more complete documentation. I have read a lot over the past fifteen years about this subject and it terrifies me more than the stupid contrived fear of them there terrorists coming after me.....however who would believe just little ole me. :gig :celebrate

Note the date of this article.

This form of GMO food has been around for at least ten years and was being fed to children in other countries until uncovered and protests ended its use.

How many here are aware of this and how does it feel to find out now that possibly your children have been exposed to it and no one informed you or gave you a chance to consider its use? :/ Remember, Monsanto does not want its products labeled as GMO. Why is that?

So....how much research was done on these......thanks to Wifezilla....these three eyed fish? :(
