A neighbor just brought us 17 ripe figs from their tree and yesterday we picked about a half gallon of wild blackberries. I don't have enough of either one to make a full recipe of jam for one single flavor so I was thinking of making a fig-blackberry jam. Has anyone made this or seen a recipe for it?

I love jam as well and since we don't care for eating figs raw, I figure this will be a good way to use them. I just need a recipe!

This may work. I'm trying this recipe using a combination of figs and raspberries. You could substitute the blackberries for the raspberries.

FROG JAM (Fig, Raspberry, Orange, Ginger)

4 cups of Figs
2 cups of Raspberries
1/2 cup fresh Orange juice
1 TSP of minced Ginger
1 pinch of clove seasoning (optional)
2 1/2 cups of white sugar
1 pouch of liquid pectin
1 TSP of lemon Juice

1. In a blender mix and mash all the fruits together.
2. Allow to sit for 30 minutes
3. Place fruit mixture in a large pot
4. Mix in the liquid pectin with the sugar.
5. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.
6. Stir continuously
7. When thick lower the heat to a low heat for 45 minutes
8. Add a pinch of clove and continue to boil for 1 minute.
9. Remove from the heat.
10. Continue to stir for five minutes
11. Remove from heat and skim foam from surface
12. Ladle mixture into sterilized pint jars leaving 1/4 inch of headspace.
13. Wipe the jar rims with a clean cloth and attach lid.
14. Seal and water bath process for 10 minutes.

Kim, I am so doing the frog jam... I've finally gotten enough Raspberries out of our yard, so going to go get figs from the nice neighbor lady Monday or Tuesday! :D

I was inspired to look for a recipe! Blackberry & Fig -- 2 of my favorite flavors :p.

Almost the same as Kim's, 3 flavors (without the ginger):

Fig-Blackberry-Orange Jam

Steve
I found that one but I wasn't sure if I can go ahead and water-bath the jars and keep them in the pantry. The directions just say to keep it in the fridge. I am fairly new to making jams and canning so I wasn't sure if it would be a problem.

The FROG jam sounds really good as well! Thanks for the recipe!

Well, I ended up just making basic blackberry jam but substituted two cups of the blackberries for fig (I didn't have the ginger or liquid pectin called for in the frog recipe and didn't want to go buy some just for the jam). I added some lemon juice as well just in case it needed a little extra acidity. I have no idea what it is going to taste like but I hope it's decent!
