Mary,

I'm personally a fan of rooting in water, it's easy and you can see root development. I've used it for willows and have read that figs are just about as easy to root. You can also root in moist soil. If you're worried that they won't root you can try rooting hormone although I doubt that you'll need it, that's mostly used for hardwood cuttings. There are a few other ways to root to.

SeedO, do I need to get any other stock cutting, scion, is that what it's called? I'm not sure what I'm talking about but I've heard of these branches that you use or is that only for grafting?
